About Me
I am experienced in media and design, particularly in the field of video production. I have
recently
transitioned into software development, having trained with the Code Institute on their
full-stack
developer course.
I have excellent written and verbal communication skills, and value a collaborative culture
of
transparency and feedback. I enjoy problem solving, working around both technical and
creative
challenges to find interesting new solutions.
Trivia
I love spending time outdoors, and trying new activities! Among other things i enjoy: roller-skating, running, yoga, hiking, swimming, stand-up paddle board, kayaking and surfing (though it's tough to surf in Sweden!)
I am constantly coming up with new ideas, and I love to loose myself in writing and creating. I have written and self published a childeren's book about time travel and guineapigs.
I was in the Air Cadets as a teenager, which afforded me many oppertunities to do amazing things. During my time with the ATC I gained several marksmanship awards, was promoted to the role of Sergeant, and qualified for a pilots licence to fly a two man aircraft (sadly it's no longer officially valid).
Work History
Two common threads that have run throughout my career are creativity and technology, they are qualities that I both look for and aim to bring to any role. For me programming was a logical next-step from AV, incorporating my enthusiasm for technology and my passion for creativity.

An Unusual Career
While in college I qualified as a Lifeguard, working in several different pools around my home county. I was a qualified first aider, though thankfully never had any serious incidents!
After studying Drama in college I worked with some friends as a clown. We would walk around festivals in costume and perform for the crowds. Sadly I can’t juggle any more, though I do still have my stilts!
I spent many years working as a bounder / security guard across the UK. I have worked at Twickenham Rugby Stadium, various pubs and clubs across the south of england, and at a variety of festivals. I have even busted a drug dealer!
Core Skills
The Code Institute course that I am studying on covers a range of front-end and
full-stack skills and tools. So far I have been studying HTML & CSS, including the
Bootstrap framework. JabaScript and jQuery, and Python.
As well as the Code Institute, I have also been studying with a non-profit
organization called Pink Programming. I have recently attended a camp where we
were introduced to Visual Studio, and programming in C# for Windows Apps.
